A TV channel ran a 3-minute story on the disaster in Japan: yet another explosion at a nuclear plant with workers scrambling to avert a total meltdown, long-range health concerns for people living near, resulting economic catastrophe may spread to the rest of the globe...
The perky brunette talking head wrapped up her story with,"So as you see, there are no shortage of horrible ripple effects from this disaster, many of which may reach out to cause devastation far into the future.
(Insert big smile.)

ReplyDeleteI thought I heard that economist say (on the weather channel, on Tuesday, Mar 15, 2011 at about 9:45am) after commenting on nuclear plant explosions in Japan) something like "There are numerous ripple effects from this disaster. Have a great day." (I may not have written it exactly as she said it.)
I credit her for having a sense of humor in the face of this terrible situation.
