This title might lead you to conclude that I'm a preservative-sprinkling, processed-cheese slugging, melted-chocolate-guzzling gorger. You would be mostly incorrect. (I prefer my chocolate cold or even frozen.)
But really, what's with the Clean Eating thing?
I stole this from JC Deen's article. Scroll down for the link. |
Don't get me wrong...I'm a huge proponent of having a healthy diet. I've been a vegetarian for 19 years. I don't eat much over-processed, canned or deep-fried stuff. I never sprinkle preservatives.
I was even super excited to try my new kale soup recipe last night, for Pete's sake! Yes, I said KALE. (It was delicious, BTW.)
Me with my kale. |
The Clean Eating thing just bugs me because:
- it sounds pretentious and holier-than-thou
- it seems to imply that the rest of us are eating filth
Anyway, I was relieved to see that I'm not alone in my opinion of Clean Eating. If you'd like to read JC Deen's longer
Well said. There does seem to be a "holier-than-thou" attitude. There are times when processed foods are just a fact of life with two working parents and busy schedules for the children. We try to eat healthy, too, but I will admit the drive through has been happening a little too often around here.
ReplyDeleteNever gave it that much thought. LOL
ReplyDeleteNow vegeterians.... there's some crazy people....
