We Have A WINNER!!

The random number generator just picked my giveaway winner...can I have a drumroll, please?!?? KAREN at MERRY LITTLE QUILTER, come on down and place your order for your handmade, monogrammed handbag!! Wooo hooooo!! Karen, you're set as 'no reply' and I don't see your email on your blog (it's probably there and I just don't see it). Please contact me so you can choose your fabrics and your monogram style!

Now why is it that when I give something away, I'M the one who's excited, just like I won it myself?!

Alrighty, that's all I have for today. I'll leave you with some pics of Zoey's quilt in progress. In true Celebrate Imperfection! style, I did manage to stretch some of the blocks out of shape with my overenthusiastic quilting. However, I told myself that it's a BABY quilt and that the BABY is not going to know or care that Grandma quilts like a gorilla. Right??
Here's the front:

And here's the back:
I'm binding it in dark purple. Thanks so much to ALL who entered my drawing. I wish I could make a purse for every one of you!!

Zoey's Minkee Monkey Blankie

I actually did finish quilting Zoey's quilt just a little while ago and snapped some pics, but they're not uploaded yet. So in the meantime, here is the minkee blanket I made for her.

The monkeys' expressions just crack me up! Doesn't this one look like he just saw you doing something embarrassing?

Zoey's dad (our younger son) says that they have a stuffed monkey toy in the crib as a 'placeholder' until the little one makes her appearance. So when I saw the monkey fabric and it matched the minkee (and the nursery colors) so well, I snapped it right up!
Come back tomorrow for some pics of her quilt. It probably won't be bound yet, but at least you'll have an idea what it looks like. OH, and don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't done so already! The deadline will be 8:00 PM tomorrow!! Thanks for stopping by!

Stylish Laundry

Well, the Celebrate Imperfection! bird had to make his (her??) appearance just to let you know that imperfection is alive and well in my projects. I was monogramming some laundry bags for my friend and had a serious issue at one point. However, all's well that ends well, right? So here they are...this one is back in the package because I didn't think about taking pictures until I'd already bagged it back up:
I think they turned out really well. And now my friend can do her laundry in style! Hope you enjoyed the pics and thanks for stopping by!

It Really IS!

The Bomb, that is! If I do say so myself, the wet bag backpack turned out GREAT!
I'm just so pleased with it!! Here's the front without the drawstring drawn:
That loop to the top left is the handle - it velcros to itself so that it can be opened to attach to a stroller handle. It would also be a good place for mom to store a rattle or her baby's "keychain".

Here's a little peek at the lining. I sewed a band of the floral fabric to the top of the lining so that the bright lime lining won't show when it's gathered by pulling the drawstring. You can also see the "keyper" for mom's keys:

The big outer pocket is "3D" (it has darts sewn into the bottom) so that it will hold a lot. It closes with velcro at the top and is trimmed with a big button. I couldn't get a decent picture of the inner divided pocket that's INSIDE that outer pocket. The inner pocket is also 3D and is sized for a cell phone on one side and a wallet on the other. Both interior pockets close with velcro so Mom won't lose her cell phone or credit cards if the backpack is upended.

Here's the back with the D rings at the bottom. The straps are extra long so that they can crisscross in the back or it can be worn over a coat or can even be worn by Dad (well...maybe Dad would prefer a NON floral fabric, LOL.)
Hope you like it as much as I do, LOL! Thanks for stopping by!!

"The Bomb" Wetbag

Just popping in a little early to give you a sneak preview of what I'm working on today:
Those are the fabrics for my "The Bomb" Wetbag! The solid lime is the waterproof lining and the lime print will be the applique monogram. Wetbags are great for moms who are out with their babies and need something to carry wet cloth diapers. (Back in the day...WE only had Ziploc bags!!) Wetbags are also wonderful to take to the beach to hold wet baby bathing suits, or for when wee ones are potty training and have an accident while mom's out and about.

Maybe you're wondering why it's "The Bomb". That was Cassie's opinion...she says it's The Bomb because it has everything! It has a roomy outer pocket that can hold extra diapers, a change of baby clothes and even a water bottle for mom. It has a divided inner pocket sized for a cell phone on one side and a wallet, credit cards, etc on the other. It has a hanging strap that opens to fit onto a stroller handle and even a "keyper" to hold mom's keychain (so she won't have to dig through anything to find keys.) Best of all, mom will have her hands free, because it's a backpack!

I probably won't get it done today, because, sadly, I'm attending a visitation for the husband of a good friend. I hope to have it finished to show you tomorrow. Until then, thanks for stopping by!

GIVEAWAY!!

ARGGHH ON BLOGGER. SORRY IF YOU'RE SEEING THIS POST TWICE!!
My friend Cassie is one of those big-hearted people who just delights in doing nice thing for her friends. Take, for example, the photo letters she made to decorate the nursery for our granddaughter-to-be, Zoey! Cassie SELLS these letters, but she refused to let me even pay her for the materials.

So I figured if I made her something personalized, well, then she could hardly refuse THAT! Cassie is ALL ABOUT zebra and hot pink, so check out this monogrammed handbag I made for her:

I don't know if you can tell, but it has hot pink rickrack trim embellished buttons. Here's the back:

The purse has two pockets inside, also trimmed in rickrack. One pocket is shaped shaped to hold a cell phone and the purse fastens with a magnetic closure:

I was so excited with how it turned out that I decided to make YOU one, if you win my giveaway! And if you win and you are not into faux zebra, you can choose from a variety of fabrics and font styles for your monogram.

You will actually have up to FIVE chances to win a monogrammed handbag for yourself or to gift to someone else. However, in order to earn an entry for each action you take, you MUST leave a SEPARATE COMMENT ON THIS POST for each 'thing' you've done (I hope that made sense...it was probably clear as mud, LOL.) So here's how to earn your chances to win:

1. Follow my Soggy Bottoms Baby Duds blog and comment to that effect on this post. ( Just leave a comment if you already follow.)
2. Grab a Soggy Bottoms Baby Duds Button (or a Celebrate Imperfection! button) for your blog and comment to that effect on this post.
3. Follow Soggy Bottoms Baby Duds on Facebook and comment to that effect on this post. ( Just leave a comment if you already follow.)
4. Post about this giveaway on your blog or on Facebook and comment to that effect on this post.
5. "Heart" my Etsy store and comment to that effect on this post.

OOOH, I'm so excited and I hope I haven't confused you!

Good luck to ALL and thanks for stopping by!

I'm BACK!!!!

Hi, just popping in to say that I'm sorry I didn't get to post yesterday. We had been away, but I am BACK now! We were visiting our son and daughter-in-law in beautiful Charleston, SC. We had a FABULOUS time!! In just a few days, we managed to:

1) Go to a Charleston Riverdogs game. They won and I bought another Riverdogs t-shirt for my collection! AND THERE WERE FIREWORKS!!

2) Visit the South Carolina Aquarium. If you click that link, the slideshow of the 385,000 gallon salt water tank does not really do it justice to what it's like to stand in front of that HUGE, two-story tank.

3) Play 36 holes of "golf" at Frankie's Fun Park, and I took second place!! (Our son took first place and truthfully, our pregnant daughter-in-law was doing great until about hole 30, when she finally started to fade in the SC heat!

4) Go to beautiful Folly Beach:
It actually poured down rain for the entire time we were in the water, which was really a lot of fun! I'm not the type to enjoy frying in the sun, so I was thrilled!
5) And last, but definitely not least, go to the James Island Dog Park THREE TIMES - can't tell you how much fun it was to watch our German shepherd frolicking with his 'cousins' and leaping into the lake to fetch tennis balls. Strangely, while swimming with the tennis ball in his mouth, he held his ears sideways and looked disconcertingly like this:

Of course, since we have not seen our son and daughter-in-law since LAST THANKSGIVING, just being with them was the best part of all. Any parent can relate to that, I'm sure.

I have something cool to show you tomorrow and PLEASE make sure you check back, because I will be ANNOUNCING A GIVEAWAY!! WOOO HOOOO, and you won't even need to have a special baby in your life in order to like this one. Here's a sneak preview:

OH, and I am really excited about some new things I'll be working on in the next few weeks. I hope you'll like them! As usual, thanks for stopping by!
