Cute Stuff!

Bird Update: This morning, my husband saw two different birds trying to drive each other off - they were BOTH trying to sit on that nest!! What the heck?(See yesterday's post if you have no idea what I'm talking about.) Now on to today's post...

Cute, Cute, CUTE!! They make me smile.
Each little zippered pouch has a split ring (hidden behind the hair, LOL) so it can hang from a child's bookbag to hold a house key, lunch money or milk money. Hang them from a pool tote to hold pool passes or even from a stroller or diaper bag to keep the extra pacis clean!

Lots of colors and fabrics to choose from. More 'boyish' versions available.

And speaking of coin/change purses...see this owl? It's a change purse! The back has a little overlapping closure, kind of like the closure on a pillow sham.

Oh, and here are two more koozies I made. I like that cheery yellow!

Glad you could stop by and, if you're in the US, I hope you had a great Memorial Day!

Why Must I Always Have Animal Trauma?! Part One

Maybe I'm jumping the gun on this one. I hope so. I hope there's no part two.

Anyway, I remember seeing a thing on TV once about an intruder bird who lays her eggs in another bird's nest. Her eggs are noticeably larger, but the legitimate-owner bird does not seem to realize they are not all her own eggs. She will sit on the intruder's eggs, right along with her own. Once the intruder's eggs hatch, those babies push the other baby birds (or maybe the eggs?? Not sure if the other eggs get a chance to even hatch) out of the nest!!!
Yeah, you see where this is going. There is a nest on top of the light fixture on our porch. It's high up, so I stood on a chair and got up there with a mirror. There are 3 little blue eggs and two MUCH larger, blue/brown speckled eggs. I'm no bird expert, but I'm pretty sure the little brown bird who sits on the nest is not producing two radically-different types of eggs.

I DO NOT WANT TO COME OUT MY DOOR AND FIND DEAD BABY BIRDS OR SMASHED EGGS WITH PARTIALLY-FORMED BIRD EMBRYOS ON OUR PORCH. I'm an animal lover...vegetarian...don't think I'll handle baby bird trauma too well. I can tell you it will at least involve a lot of hysterical shrieking for my husband.

I emailed the Audubon Society and two other bird-advice places. Maybe I'm jumping the gun and the baby birds will all be friends. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for visiting. I'm off to sew something ultra-cute! Pics asap...

In Awe!!

Okay, I know it' a little bit out of season, but I visited the amazing Bakerella for the first time this morning and just HAD to share. I was clicking around on her site and came across THIS:
Seriously, GO HERE and read all about how she and a friend created all these amazing desserts!!
Seriously, GO NOW.

Wow. You'd better believe I am scared to show my 3 rabid Steelers fans because we already know that there is no way I could ever, EVER do something like this!!
Thanks for visiting. Check back soon - I have LOTS of sewing and embroidery projects going this weekend!

Under the Weather...

Speaking of weather, it is HOTHOTHOT here. I'm not loving it. My husband and I had been holding out, refusing to turn on the AC. Yeah, till I got up this morning and it was 83 degrees in our house. And it was only 6:48 AM. The AC is on now. Better believe that.

So for the past two days, I've had either a bad head cold or allergies or some darn thing. I've been dragging myself to work and one of my kiddos made me the CUTEST picture to wish me back to health. I'll see if I can scan and post it.

I'm off to lie down, which is not like me. Maybe if I get some rest it will help!

Thanks for visiting! Hope to be back soon with a more exciting post!

New Stuff!

Here's a little glimpse of what I've been up to!
I am really excited about our new polka-dotted bottle koozies.

I also whipped up a couple more of these owl cardholder/keychains:
Ridiculously cute!

And how cute are these Tooth Fairy Pillows for two little sisters:

This is way cuter in person - the turtle's shell is a nice, grassy green:

That bib and burpie about killed me.
The burpie embroidery was aaaaaallllmost done
when something went wrong and I had to start over. ARGHHH!!!!

And now you're going to have to put up with another proud Nannie moment!
ZOEY HAS PAINTED TOES!!! How cute is THAT?!
You can see by the blurriness of the picture that this was a real feat (bad pun intended) for Zoey's momma! Great job, Sarah! Nannie would have had polish all over Zoey's feet!

I'm so happy you could visit. Come back and see me soon!

Q is for Quilts and O is for Thank God 26 Letters in 26 Days is FINALLY Over!

This one is easy...in fact, I'm kinda cheating. Here are some quilts I made before I got hijacked by the embroidery bug! Some are not quilted yet and are pinned to the design wall. And some are being inspected by the quality control supervisors. Such helpful cats!

Thanks for visiting and I'll be back with some cool new things I've been working on!

Aww, Poor Dog!

I must have no life.
Other than embroidery and my grandchildren,
of course.
I have watched this video a sad number of times and
I guess the really sad thing is that it STILL cracks me up!!

Let me know if you think it's hilarious, too.
Thanks for checking on me. I have been SUPER busy, sewing and embroidering stuff.
One of my fans (Hi, Catherine!) told me I was slacking and needed to post something. I'll be back soon to FINALLY finish my 26 Letters in Way More Than 26 Days!

And Z is for...

Zoey, of course! You surely didn't think I would do a post on our grandson Avery and NOT do a post on our granddaughter, Zoey...right?Those of you who have read my blog for a while are maybe sick of the panda hat picture. It's my favorite one of Zoey, just like yesterday's Avery pic is my favorite of him, so sorry. LOL

Rachel (Avery's mommy) and Sarah (Zoey's momma) worked so hard to make our March visit extra special, because it happened to fall on my birthday. We all know that our sons weren't the driving force in coming up with fun birthday stuff for me, right?!

It was SO much fun to watch our two grandbabies interact when we were there. Like this picture, for example...hopefully she's
KISSING him and not BITING, LOL.

No wonder poor Avery always looked like this when she was around, LOL!

Glad you could visit!
If you're not busy tonight at 8 EST (and if you "do" Facebook), pop over to Boutique Challenge Group's Comment Game. You'll see what I've been working so hard to create.

If you're not on FB, don't worry. I'll post some pics of the items soon! There is one item that is almost guaranteed to make you smile!

A is for...

Hi, are you still there? I've been gone so long...just sewing away! We're in another Comment Game tomorrow and I've been trying to get a gazillion little things ready...I told my hubby that after tomorrow, things should settle down some. He just went, "Hmmmm." LOL

So...A is for Avery. Yes, it's my blog and you're going to have to put up with the proud Nannie thing. But really, isn't this the SWEETEST expression?! Try not to focus on the spitup on his chin, LOL. He LOVES his daddy!

And A is also for ARMY (or AIR FORCE, if I changed the colors). Show dad you are PROUD of him! And just in time for Father's Day, too!

This design is shown on a bib/burpie set, but we can put it on most anything...I'm doing a tote for the granddaughter of a coworker...also it could go on a t-shirt, onesie, etc. I can change the uniform colors and the colors of the wording. This uniform (even the little boots!) was made from genuine upcycled camo fabric.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to be back WAY sooner than I was this time!!
