Above and Beyond

I consider myself the type of person who goes above and beyond.
I'm just not satisfied unless I give it my best.

I really do try to live the maxim, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well."
Followed closely by, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."
And sometimes (like at 2:30 AM last night this morning, when I FINALLY finished sewing the garment that I had totally ripped apart at midnight),
"If it were easy, EVERYONE would do it!"
However, not everyone does goes above and beyond. If you remember the Momshots post (if not, click HERE to go read it), those photos were a great example of lack of effort. (And YES, you were all correct! Everyone who voted knew that the "Momshot girl" was the third pic in each set.)

And do you know what the really sad part is about those Momshot pics?
THAT MOM IS A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER.
Well, guess what?!
Miriam's mom is a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, too.
A REAL one.
And just LOOK at how above and beyond she went in the adorable Miriam's photo shoot.Do you notice anything about that pic above?

How about this one? (Here's a hint...look closely at the watering can!)

Hmmm. Do you think Mom just happens to have a watering can with the exact same flower as the Michael Miller fabric I used in Miriam's top??

I think not. I think went above and beyond and PHOTOSHOPPED that flower onto the watering can. Was it mandatory? Heck, no. In fact, I really didn't realize it was even POSSIBLE. But Mom did, and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make me happy.
I love Miriam's expression on that one. She is OVER it!! LOL

You better believe I'll be using Miriam again!!!!!!!!

GREAT Pics!!!!

I am SO excited!!!
Check out some of the AWESOME pictures of Madison modeling our
Reversible Tunic, Ruffle Capris, Flutterbye Wand and Ponytail Boppers!!
We have picture shoots scheduled with 3 other little models.
I just LOVE sewing these clothes!!!!
I made the little banner hanging on the tree, too.
Do you love the pics?
Stay tuned!!

These garments are made with top-quality fabrics, including Michael Miller's Ta-Dot, which I just LOVE. Reversible Tunic Top can be ordered in dress length and can later be worn as a top, so it grows with your daughter through a couple of sizes.
It's also adorable over a t-shirt, with different bottoms, etc.

That's What Friends Are For

Stealing from, that is. Well, I really don't think it's stealing if your friend is urging you to use her idea, is it??
Cassie is just brimming with great ideas...she bought her embroidery machine a few weeks before I bought mine. She and I have been conversing daily to fan the flames of each other's frenzies share ideas and inspirations.

The picture above is Cassie's tutu that she made for Little A. Just adorable, right? I wanted to make one JUST LIKE IT for Zoey.

The first problem was that I couldn't find a hot pink onesie like that. ANYWHERE. (Little A's mom had gotten it in a box of baby clothes she received from another mom.)

The second problem was that I just couldn't live with being THAT much of a copycat. However, I did really love the whole flower/onesie/tutu/thing.

So this is what I came up with. It's taken at a funny angle because the paint is still wet and I was trying not to ruin it in the picture-taking process.

YES, that is also another flower on the little tush. I couldn't help myself!

The flower petals are actually a lighter fuchsia-violet color. The tutu and the center of the cone flower (which my husband called "the strawberry-looking thing". STRAWBERRY. LOOKING. THING. But I digress.) are both more of a reddish hot pink. You can tell that the color is off because the background fabric is actually white.(Yes, it seems that I'm back in hot-pink-land!)

You can expect this to appear in my Esty store within the next day or so. Oh, and I do have another idea for adding some embroidery, but it's not an initial. Just mulling that over for right now...

So I'd like to thank Cassie for her wonderful inspiration. And maybe she can also help me out with my tomato overload. That IS what friends are for...RIGHT? LOL

The DEVIL!!

Before I explain the rather ominous title of this post, check out the giveaway bib I just mailed to Nancy, the winner of my giveaway! I downloaded this ultra-cute firetruck design especially for her little great-nephew, Joseph. I know firetrucks were a favorite for our boys and I hope Joseph feels the same way!

Now, to explain the title of this post...do you remember this lady? She was the Water Boy's mama, Mama Boucher. If you saw the movie, you probably remember anything that made Mama Boucher mad was "THE DEVIL!". Well, pretty much everything was THE DEVIL to her!
So what does Mama Water Boy have to do with anything? See those little ruffled baby pants in the picture below? They may look innocent enough, but I can tell you FOR SURE that they are THE DEVIL!! LOL Can you imagine that those little drawers took me about 4 hours to sew????? WOW. That stretch of time involved a lot of sewing, a whole lot of ripping out what I'd sewn (including taking off the third ruffle that I had double-sewed for strength) and a sprinkling of colorful language.
So here is the latest baby dress, complete with its matching ruffled bottoms. Which baby dress do you prefer, the one with the monogram on the bottom band (like the froggie one I made) or this one with the monogram on the chest? I made two drawstrings for the straps on this one, instead of using the two satin ribbons.
I'll have to take a pic of the baby dress on its own, so it can go into my Etsy store as an example of another dress I'll be selling. The little dress was fun to make and did not involve any ripping out of stitches or cursing. I'm not putting the ruffled pants in my Etsy store because you'd better believe I will NOT be making more of them! I'm telling you, they are THE DEVIL! LOL
Hoping to have these items (including the firetruck/monogrammed bib) in the Etsy store by tomorrow at least. Leave me a comment to let me know which baby dress you prefer!
