And Z is for...

Zoey, of course! You surely didn't think I would do a post on our grandson Avery and NOT do a post on our granddaughter, Zoey...right?Those of you who have read my blog for a while are maybe sick of the panda hat picture. It's my favorite one of Zoey, just like yesterday's Avery pic is my favorite of him, so sorry. LOL

Rachel (Avery's mommy) and Sarah (Zoey's momma) worked so hard to make our March visit extra special, because it happened to fall on my birthday. We all know that our sons weren't the driving force in coming up with fun birthday stuff for me, right?!

It was SO much fun to watch our two grandbabies interact when we were there. Like this picture, for example...hopefully she's
KISSING him and not BITING, LOL.

No wonder poor Avery always looked like this when she was around, LOL!

Glad you could visit!
If you're not busy tonight at 8 EST (and if you "do" Facebook), pop over to Boutique Challenge Group's Comment Game. You'll see what I've been working so hard to create.

If you're not on FB, don't worry. I'll post some pics of the items soon! There is one item that is almost guaranteed to make you smile!

Shop Till You Drop

Here are some pics of the little Hands-Free Shopping Purses I made for the craft show. You can shop till you drop because they are sized just right to hold a credit card, some cash, a cell phone and your keys. The strap is long enough that the purse can be worn across your body, so you don't have to worry about it sliding off your shoulder and your hands will be free. Do you love the owls?

I have some pics of a really cute banner I made for our grandson-to-be, Avery. Hopefully, I'll have them up tomorrow! Thanks for coming to visit me!

Shhh, Don't Tell Cassie!!

Don't tell Cassie, but I think I like the giveaway handbag better than the zebra one I made her. I think I'm just not a zebra-and-pink girl. No matter...Cassie likes the handbag well enough for both of us!

Anyway, here's the front of the giveaway bag. Karen wanted a monogram, which is definitely more subtle than the appliqued C on Cassie's bag. But I kind of like the monogram. It lets the ribbon/button trim really stand out:

The lime greens really do all match...not like they look in the pics. The back looks the same as the front except for the monogram. Here's the inside:
I like the bamboo handles. Here's a closeup of the ribbon-and-button trim:

That's it for today. It is 100 degrees here - I ran some errands and now I'm exhausted, LOL! Well, with no Zoey sightings yet I guess at least my husband and I don't have to jump around in the heat like this:
No wait...I don't really think either of us look like THAT. Maybe 35 years ago ONE of us did...

Status Quo

The monogrammed handbag for our giveaway winner, Karen, is complete!! Well, it's complete except for a little bit of embellishment that I want to add. I should have it done tomorrow and hopefully be able to show you some pics! It turned out CUTE, if I do say so myself!!

Other than that...have you scrolled down to see the baby tickers lately??
ZOEY IS DUE IN FIVE DAYS.

Let me just tell you, my nerves are shot. My poor son...I tend to answer his phone calls by hollering into the phone, "IS EVERYTHING ALRIGHT?!?!!!". Heck, even my husband commented today that he just can't concentrate because all he keeps thinking of is Zoey!

So, no change in the grandkids-status-quo. I'll keep you posted, but if you feel the ground shake, it's probably me and my husband celebrating Zoey's birth! Kinda like these guys (but older and probably without the coats):
Thanks for stopping by!

We Have A WINNER!!

The random number generator just picked my giveaway winner...can I have a drumroll, please?!?? KAREN at MERRY LITTLE QUILTER, come on down and place your order for your handmade, monogrammed handbag!! Wooo hooooo!! Karen, you're set as 'no reply' and I don't see your email on your blog (it's probably there and I just don't see it). Please contact me so you can choose your fabrics and your monogram style!

Now why is it that when I give something away, I'M the one who's excited, just like I won it myself?!

Alrighty, that's all I have for today. I'll leave you with some pics of Zoey's quilt in progress. In true Celebrate Imperfection! style, I did manage to stretch some of the blocks out of shape with my overenthusiastic quilting. However, I told myself that it's a BABY quilt and that the BABY is not going to know or care that Grandma quilts like a gorilla. Right??
Here's the front:

And here's the back:
I'm binding it in dark purple. Thanks so much to ALL who entered my drawing. I wish I could make a purse for every one of you!!

GIVEAWAY!!

ARGGHH ON BLOGGER. SORRY IF YOU'RE SEEING THIS POST TWICE!!
My friend Cassie is one of those big-hearted people who just delights in doing nice thing for her friends. Take, for example, the photo letters she made to decorate the nursery for our granddaughter-to-be, Zoey! Cassie SELLS these letters, but she refused to let me even pay her for the materials.

So I figured if I made her something personalized, well, then she could hardly refuse THAT! Cassie is ALL ABOUT zebra and hot pink, so check out this monogrammed handbag I made for her:

I don't know if you can tell, but it has hot pink rickrack trim embellished buttons. Here's the back:

The purse has two pockets inside, also trimmed in rickrack. One pocket is shaped shaped to hold a cell phone and the purse fastens with a magnetic closure:

I was so excited with how it turned out that I decided to make YOU one, if you win my giveaway! And if you win and you are not into faux zebra, you can choose from a variety of fabrics and font styles for your monogram.

You will actually have up to FIVE chances to win a monogrammed handbag for yourself or to gift to someone else. However, in order to earn an entry for each action you take, you MUST leave a SEPARATE COMMENT ON THIS POST for each 'thing' you've done (I hope that made sense...it was probably clear as mud, LOL.) So here's how to earn your chances to win:

1. Follow my Soggy Bottoms Baby Duds blog and comment to that effect on this post. ( Just leave a comment if you already follow.)
2. Grab a Soggy Bottoms Baby Duds Button (or a Celebrate Imperfection! button) for your blog and comment to that effect on this post.
3. Follow Soggy Bottoms Baby Duds on Facebook and comment to that effect on this post. ( Just leave a comment if you already follow.)
4. Post about this giveaway on your blog or on Facebook and comment to that effect on this post.
5. "Heart" my Etsy store and comment to that effect on this post.

OOOH, I'm so excited and I hope I haven't confused you!

Good luck to ALL and thanks for stopping by!
