How I Almost Went to Jail

LOL, NOW you're interested, aren't you!? Well, I guess that if I had not ceased and desisted, maybe I really could have gone to the slammer. What I'm talking about is this - do you notice the difference between these first two pics (which you've seen before):

And the second two pics? Other than the fabrics and monogram, of course.

You don't see it, do you? WELL, YOU'D BETTER SEE IT, BECAUSE THE DIFFERENCE IS WHAT ALMOST SENT ME TO JAIL.

See, I made Zoey's lovie (the first two pics) with LOOPS of ribbon. And when I advertised that style of lovie on Etsy, I called it a Ta_ _ ie Lovie (replace both blanks with G.) Turns out that what I called it is COPYRIGHTED. Etsy sent me an email and told me they had removed my listing for COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT and that I should not re-list it! Or else.

Hmmm, they can't keep me down...not for long, anyway. Avery's lovie has TABS (with a B, not a G) of ribbon. Heat-treated (to keep from fraying) flat chunks of ribbon. No LOOPS. Nothing tag-y about it. So of course, it's not a Ta_ _ie Lovie. I'm calling it a TABBIE LOVIE. TaBBie, I say. And that's NOT copyrighted.

I'm pretty sure it's not.

I can just see the headlines now...

KINDERGARTEN TEACHER LED FROM SCHOOL IN SHACKLES - REPORTS INDICATE SALE OF CONTRABAND ITEMS!!

They won't mention that the contraband is blankets with LOOPS of ribbon!

Thanks for stopping by. If you don't hear from me for a while, check the booking photos at our local precinct!

Done!

Just popping in to do a little show-and-tell! Here's the super-girly tabbie lovie. It is for a different Little A, not my cutie baby model, but another little cutie:
It's just so darn cheery! Kinda makes me smile...
The bow is just something I tried out, mostly to showcase the adorable ribbon, but I think I'll go back to making them without. (The bow is flattened on one side in the pic...it doesn't look wonky like that when it's fluffed out.)

The ribbon is pink gingham and it says Thank Heaven for Little Girls. I just HAD to use it, because this Little A truly is Heaven-sent. Her mom has lost a child - what could be more tragic? So Little A is the answer to her mom's prayers.

That's it for today. I'm so excited to have the extra day this weekend and I hope to get some cool stuff made.

Thanks for coming to visit!

Finally, Something to Show!

This will be a quickie post tonight, since I still have some things I need to get done before I hit the sack. I got started working on my project and time got away from me. So, without further ado, here's what I have to show you:
I'm calling this the front, because I love the softness if this fabric. (YES, more monkeys!)

So I guess that makes this the back:
It's a taggie lovie for my little love, Zoey.

Surely there are others on the planet who had never previously heard of a "lovie". A "lovie" is like a drag-around blanket, only small. Ideally, it should be made of satin and soft stuff for the recipient to rub and feel. My sensory version has strips of trim sewn around the outside...again, for the little recipient to rub, feel and even chew on. The "tabs" are usually made of satin ribbon, but I decided MY little recipient needed some variety, in both tactile and visual texture, so I added some grosgrain ribbon and even some rickrack!

Off to vacuum up the multicolored fluff that is covering the 'studio' floor. (The monkey fabric is almost like faux fur and sheds like crazy when it's cut.) Thanks for stopping by!
